Sleep time

We read good night moon at bedtime. More like recite it(after reading it million times who needs the book?). These days after the lights are out, we just say lines from the book and say good night to a whole lot of stuff. Kiddo popped a question all of a sudden - "why do we sleep in dark?". 'Hmm because.. because... sun went to sleep already and as we cant see anything we cannot go out and play or anything. So let us rest until sun comes back up again in the morning when we have loads of things to do'. Whoa mommy you did good, I thought to myself. But ofcourse, I never get the last word for he said 'no amma, lets go to the moon and fix more lights!!!'. Yes of course :)

Now, thats a great idea

Kiddo has a running temperature. Poor thing has been in bed for 2 days now and it kills me to not see him running around and talk non-stop. We have been cuddling a lot and there are some lighter moments here and there too that makes us feel that the clouds will soon clear. He woke up screaming at 1 am today saying that he cannot open his eyes and that they are glued shut. Yes, it was the yellow gooey stuff on his eyes that had hardened. I asked him not to get scared and told him that I will get a wet washcloth, wipe it clean and that everything will be alright. Kiddo got mad at the idea and shouted at me, "no, go get your scissors"! And cut his eyes open?? Uh-huh. Why didnt I think of that?!?!?

Because...

Kiddo has learnt a new word. Becase. And he tries and uses it every time(irrespective of whether its needed). And every time he says something I think it's blogworthy but forget what it was by the time I get around to it. Now I remember one from yesterday. He was crying for nothing(those of you with kids will totally know what I mean!) And I asked him why. He decided to answer with because. I am crying because.. because... (trying to think between sobs) I like to cry! Well, who can argue with that kind of solid logic!!!

Finding play-doh

My soon-to-be-three little guy was looking for play-doh, and I was feeling pretty good at the moment. I decided to help him look for it. I crouched on the floor and looked under the sofa since that's where EVERYTHING disappears to. But no luck this time. But by now I know that it's the best position to look for stuff since it was bound to be under something and did a 360 degrees perimeter search. And there it was near the umbrella. I told him it was near the umbrella and he decided to crouch near the sofa and look under it. I told him again, and he moved the carpet looking for it. I told again, and he decided to dump all the books on the table and look under it! Patience weaning by then, I said "how many umbrellas do you see near you?" and he says "One" and suddenly spots the play-doh. He runs to it and happily announces, "Look Amma, I found the Play-doh!". Yes darling, you sure did!

Snow in spring

It was one of those warm bright days that marked the arrival of spring. I was feeling so good and kiddo was out on the patio looking at squirrels and birds and grass. You know, one of those good mothering moments. And I decided to make a cup of tea and join him in the patio. And he suddenly says, "ohh noooo snowwww". I ran out, heartbroken that my dreams about spring were crushed in such a terrible manner only to see him looking up at pretty white clouds on the sky (you know the ones, the ones that makes the sky looks like it just got back from the laundromat) and told me again - "Amma look, there is soooo much snow on the sky!". I could only smile (ohh, who am I kidding? I hugged and kissed until he pulled away!)

august 17

Trying to think of a way to keep all the memories fresh. As of today my lil one is 16 months old and a real smart fella.

Today he developed a fascination for mommy's tummy and gave a lot many kisses. Jumped from the high chair trusting me like no on  ever has and ran indoors to his daddy. Trust me, he only runs out and never in.

Dear Aditya...

Now that you are taking a nap and I get some quiet time, I thought I will get some time off you(you are nine months old and keeping me and achan on our toes). But looking at your cute lil face, I can think of nothing but how you would grow up to a fine young man one day. And I will most probably be a grumpy old lady then! And I wish that you get to know about our journey too. And whoa - another blog is born today, my boy, and this is all for you...

Love you - Amma :)
